The DVMS MathCounts Club is an after-school program held on Fridays, with a mission to nurture students' love for mathematics in a healthy, competitive environment.
MathCounts is a popular national middle school mathematics competition that promotes problem-solving skills and a positive attitude toward math for students in grades 6-8.
MathCounts will meet on most Fridays from 3-5 pm, September through early March.
The meeting calendar will be shared via email.
Each session includes:
Practice Math Test created from the MathCounts competition database.
Snack Break
Math Lesson taught by High School Mentors, followed by a review of that day's test.
The cost is $80 per student. These fees are used to cover the following expenses:
- Database for competition math problems
- Registration for Team Competition
- AMC 8 Test
- Weekly snacks and supplies
- Parties (Holiday and Year-end)
